Brief

Develop a distinctive Identity for a pharmaceutical consultant

Background

Joanne Broadhead is professional consultant providing technical and project management expertise to the pharmaceutical industry.

Part of the brief was to avoid the colours of orange and purple. Green was also not appropriate as that is too closely linked with retail pharmacy so after exploring various colour combinations I settled on blue because it conveys trust, intelligence and authority.

I felt that a logo mark was required and so by combining the pharmaceutical symbol formation of a cross, the capsule shape of pharmaceutical drugs, and the letter J for Joanne, resulted in a unique logo that relates to this specific industry field. Once the basic shape was established, I then continued to explore various ways of making it more interesting so introduced some graduated tints to create a more dynamic 3D feel. At this point I introduced a lighter blue to add depth to the shape.
